Staff never handle card numbers
Your staff take the order on the phone and send a payment link by SMS. Card details are never spoken aloud, written on a notepad, or typed into Pay-E. The customer enters their card on their own phone.

Pay-E helps your staff take phone orders without handling card details. Customers pay through Stripe Checkout, and order status updates automatically when payment is complete.

Card entry happens on Stripe-hosted Checkout, not on Pay-E. Stripe is PCI-DSS Level 1 certified and handles Apple Pay, Google Pay, Visa, Mastercard, and Eftpos in Australia. Pay-E receives a confirmation webhook when payment lands — we never see or store the card number.
Every payment link is time-limited. The default is 15 minutesfrom the moment it's sent — long enough for the customer to pay while they're still on the phone, short enough that an unpaid order doesn't sit open all night. Each shop can adjust the window in Settings → Payments.
Every order gets its own payment link with a random, unguessable token. Links cannot be reused for a different order, and once an order is paid, voided, or expired, the link stops accepting payment. The order status updates automatically when the payment is complete.
We store what the workflow needs: customer phone number, optional name, order line items and totals, payment status, and timestamps for the key events (link sent, link opened, paid). We don't sell customer data. Full details and your rights are in the Privacy Policy.
Pay-E is designed around Friday-night phone orders, pickup and delivery flows, and the messy edges of busy service — old phones, noisy kitchens, regulars who pay later. Shops in Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane are running it now.
