About Pay-E

Built in Brunswick, for Australian kitchens.

Pay-E started in a pizza shop. The owner kept losing $80 family orders to no-shows; the existing payment options were all designed for sit-down restaurants or e-commerce, never the messy reality of a phone-order kitchen on a Friday night.

Why we exist

Existing tools were built for the wrong shop.

Big POS vendors are built around the dine-in checkout — table numbers, splits, tipping flows. E-commerce platforms are built around the cart and the checkout page. Neither of them helps the kebab shop owner who's on the phone with a regular and needs to take payment in 30 seconds without reading a card number across a hot kitchen.

We built Pay-E for that specific moment: phone rings, you take the order, an SMS goes out with a Stripe-hosted paylink, and the kitchen ticket prints when the customer pays. Nothing else.

The team is small, based in Melbourne and Sydney, and shipping from a flat in Brunswick. We answer support emails ourselves. If you write to us, you're writing to a builder, not a call-centre script.

What we believe

Four rules we ship by.

  • Operator-first

Every workflow is shaped by Friday-night kitchens, not boardroom decks. We test in real shops before we ship.

  • Honest about scope

We tell you what we don't do as clearly as what we do. The integrations page lists what's live and what's on the roadmap — no marketing fluff.

  • AU-first, not AU-only

Built for Australian shops, in Australian dollars, with Australian carriers and AEST support. International expansion would change that, and we'd say so before we did it.

  • No marketplace cut

We don't take a percentage of your sales. We charge a flat monthly fee and your customers stay your customers.
